Lower taxes and measures on immigration

On the immigration side, 9.4% of respondents are calling for tougher reception conditions, with quotas (9.3%). 5.5% advocate the abolition of family reunification and the right to land, by having a common European policy.

The proposals that oppose immigration are more numerous than the desire to improve reception conditions (10%). Education and learning French is considered the most effective and fair integration tool (20%).

Fewer parliamentarians, local referendums

Regarding democracy, another major theme addressed by Emmanuel Macron in his questionnaire, 69% of contributors on the Internet request the inclusion of the white vote in elections. And 57% want the vote to become mandatory. Referendums at the local level are claimed at 80%. And 42% wish to facilitate the use of the referendum of shared initiative (RIP), in particular by lowering the trigger threshold (14.4%) and by badociating a citizens' initiative referendum (5.8%).

Most of the contributors (86%) want a reduction in the number of parliamentarians and the introduction of proportional representation (42.2%) for a better representation of the different political sensitivities in the elections, in particular legislative elections.

The non-cumulation of mandates is considered a good thing (64%) and a majority (53%) of respondents want a transformation of the bademblies. 86% of respondents believe that there are too many administrative levels. Their attachment goes first to the commune (68%), in front of the region (38%) and the department (35%).

Reduce public spending

Participants want public services closer to home and more human when they encounter difficulties: 52% want to be able to be supported by an agent if they encountered difficulties for their efforts via the Internet. 49% of them say that they have already renounced an allowance because the administrative procedures are too complicated.

In order to finance social expenditure, 52% of participants believe that counterparts must be set up for the various solidarity allowances, increase working time (24%) and lower the retirement age (22%). To reduce the deficit, public spending should be reduced, say 75% of respondents, including state spending (56%).

Financing the ecological transition through the state budget and taxation

Finally, in terms of ecology: 62% of contributors recognize that climate change has an impact on their daily lives, with heat waves, storms and droughts. And 86% think they can help protect the environment. 32% say they can not do without their own car, for lack of alternative mobility solution, against 37% who say they have this possibility.

55% of respondents believe that taxes on diesel and gasoline will not change behavior. To finance the ecological transition, 59% of the participants believe that it should be financed by the general state budget and ecological taxation. And this funding must be distributed (69%) among companies, administrations and individuals

Respondents do not oppose ecology to purchasing power. 77% believe that their actions in favor of the environment can save them money.

These results come from responses to the questionnaire developed by the interministerial mission in charge of the major national debate and contributions via the Internet. For these closed questions, an algorithm has counted the occurrences of each answer and calculated a percentage.

For open-ended questions, an algorithm identified keywords and major themes, sorted and categorized into sub-categories and then "human intervention" checked the consistency of the results.
