where the protesters could gather in Paris Saturday?

After the Champs-Élysées on November 24, the "yellow vests" intend to keep the pressure on the government by demonstrating again in Paris Saturday, January 1st.

Currently the Prefecture of Police has received two statements of events related to "yellow vests" for Saturday: a gathering place of the Republic and an demonstration of the Place de la Madeleine towards that of the Republic. On the other hand, no declaration concerning the Champs-Élysées has been made at this stage.

On 27 November, after being received by the Minister for the Ecological Transition, representatives of the "yellow vests" called for a new day of demonstrations in Paris, saying they were dissatisfied with the responses given by the executive to the anger of some of the French.

Towards a new event on the Champs?

In particular, a representative of the movement called for return to the Champs-Élysées. However, no request has yet been filed with the police headquarters, and it appears difficult for the authorities to agree after the excesses of the weekend.

What is certain, at least, is that the area around the Place de la Concorde, until the Elysee, will be closed, as had been the case at the previous event. On RTL, Laurent Nuñez, Secretary of State to the Minister of the Interior reminded that closing the entire Champs-Elysees is not excluded.
