11 dead after eating "toxic" rice in a Hindu temple. Twenty-nine other people were hospitalized in a very critical condition in several facilities in Karnataka state.
"Eleven people have died, and so far 93 have been hospitalized, 29 of whom are undergoing respiratory badistance," said K. H. Prasad, the health officer in the area where the temple is located.
"It is likely that some kind of toxic substance was mixed with the rice and samples were sent for testing," Prasad added.
