French astronaut Thomas Pesquet is known for posting some fascinating photos on his Instagram account. The astronaut, who is at the International Space Station (ISS), once again posted an intriguing entry on Instagram. Pesquet often publishes photos of the Earth from the ISS. Many of his posts have shown the beauty of outer space. But this time, he chose to take a few shots of the very vehicle that allowed him to take photos that are literally out of this world.
Pesquet focused his goal on the solar panels of the ISS service module, the powerful wings that support it by receiving solar energy. In the photos, not only do the solar panels shine in all their glory, but they glow in a bluish hue that is likely a reflection of our blue planet.
Pesquet posted two images. In one, a collection of thousands of panels is seen with the Earth in the background. But Pesquet also zoomed in and let the camera lens show off the intriguing beauty of the individual panels. The panels retain the blue tint and the image looks as if a butterfly wing has been enlarged to absorb the intricate beauty.
Pesquet’s photos have gone viral as always. Likes are likely to reach 50,000 brands. Comments are also pouring in.
Thomas Pesquet was sent to the International Space Station in November 2016 for a six-month mission. For his current mission, he was sent to the ISS aboard SpaceX Crew Dragon.
