A mother mourns the loss of her 33-year-old daughter who was vaccinated against COVID-19 but still succumbed to the virus on Sunday, according to a report.
Angelle Mosley, described as a “motivated businesswoman”, who had just opened the doors of her first store, Brave Beautique in June, texted her mother last Thursday to tell her she was not feeling well, the local WDSU store reported.

“She said, ‘I know I don’t have COVID. I can still smell and taste. And I’m vaccinated.’ But when she got to the hospital, it turned out she had it, “Angela’s mother Tara Mosley told WDSU.

“Her neighbor brought her in at 2 or 3 in the morning. She said, ‘They’ll keep me because I have pneumonia and a high fever,'” Tara Mosley told the outlet. Mosley got a call from the doctor on Sunday, who said Angela’s heart rate was dropping. Angelle died later that day.
Now, Angelle’s mother has said that she is pushing for others to receive vaccines and take preventive measures against infection, such as wearing a mask.

“One of the things that I will say contributed to her death, Angelle was tall for her age. She was obese. The variant that is out right now. It shows us that it is really serious. I saw it. with the life of my own child, ”Mosley told WDSU.
Angelle’s story is presented as a highly transmissible delta variant, believed to account for at least 83% of samples sequenced in the United States, is causing an increase in infections nationwide and has even caused a reversal of federal health guidelines regarding mask use. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is now calling for vaccinated individuals donning masks in indoor public spaces in places where viral spread is high and substantial.
Public health experts maintain that licensed COVID-19 vaccines are very effective in preventing poor outcomes like hospitalization and death, but rare cases of breakthroughs are expected. The CDC reports at least 5,914 cases of breakthrough (or infection resulting in hospitalization or death of a fully vaccinated individual), with 27% of hospital admissions reported as asymptomatic or unrelated to COVID-19, and 26% of deaths reported as asymptomatic or unrelated to COVID-19 amid more than 161 million fully vaccinated people in the United States
Louisiana, where Angelle’s death is believed to have taken place, is among nearly two dozen states struggling with high levels of viral transmission, where the CDC recommends that fully vaccinated people wear masks in indoor public spaces .
