Google released the third public release of Android P today. Google also announces that this new version is already the first candidate version – so now all new features should be included in the Android update.
In early June, Google had released the latest preview version for the Android 9.0 update, which was scheduled for the summer, but now there is already a candidate for the release. The update is now available for volunteer testers. Those who already use the second public beta will get the new version as an automatic update directly on the smartphone. The fourth Developer Preview and at the same time Android P Beta 3 contains after Google, in addition to some bugfixes, mainly the optimization and stability enhancement as well as the updates of security of July 2018.
Android 9 aka Android P should be completed this summer
There are no new features in this update, Google is already fully focused on the development of the next feature update for the mobile operating system.
Liberation still in summer
According to Google's internal schedule for the development phase of Android P are planned a total of five developer versions. The release for all users should take place this summer, but there is currently no exact date. As always, Google's Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be used first. Already in the beta program, the company has had this year but has included other manufacturers, so you can expect that they will also be quickly delivered with the Android P finish.
These include the essential phone, the Nokia 7 Plus, the OnePlus 6, the Oppo R15 Pro, the Sony Xperia XZ2, the Vivo X21UD, the Vivo X21 and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.
