However, in some parts of the area, the Bloodmoon continued

NUREMBERG –
It was a historic event, an extremely rare show in the sky – but not in many places in Franconia. Clouds hit the lunar eclipse of parts of the region. Elsewhere in Germany, observers were more fortunate in the weather lottery.
At least the Fürths were able to enjoy a moon of blood: in many parts of Franconia, however, the clouds darkened the view of the spectacle.
It twinkled slightly, was faintly visible – but much of Nuremberg did not see much more historical lunar eclipse. It was the longest of the 21st century, for a total of 103 minutes, the Earth's satellite was obscured at least partially. This was joined by a Mars as big and brilliant as it had not been seen in 15 years. In theory. For a cloud cover greeted many francs the sight of the sky show.
Hobby's astronomers appear to have been luckier elsewhere in the region. A reader nordbayern.de from Ansbach speaks of a moon that has presented itself dramatically over the Center-West region of Franconia – and was clearly recognizable. Similar reports are also available in Hersbruck and Zirndorf, but in Fürth, the moon was only dimly visible again. In Munich, just south of the republic, the moon of the earth was clear in the sky. A weather lottery in which Franken apparently lost at least partly.
Clouds did not play
The conditions were otherwise perfect. 30 degrees, a mild summer evening – only the clouds did not work. Hundreds of people gathered in the observatories of Franconia and Upper Palatinate to look at the sky together. They drew binoculars, telescopes and cameras.
Anyway: For the people who live now, it was the only way to experience the show in such a combination. The show is too rare. A lunar eclipse occurs only at the full moon – when the sun, the earth and the moon are aligned. The moon plunges completely into the shadows that the sunlit earth throws into space. Astronaut Alexander Gerst, who is currently at the ISS space station, has looked particularly well
A small consolation for those who could not see the moon – here images spectacular of Germany, Europe and the world:
When the moon of blood shows: The lunar eclipse was global
Mars is particularly close to the earth, and this makes shine the red moon: Friday a lunar eclipse was to amaze the extra clbad. The spectators watched the show all over the world. In Franconia, however, the clouds cry the sight.
