Watch movies on your smartphone in the dark without being dazzled: YouTube now lets you darken the design of the app on Android smartphones. The feature is apparently a little late.
Multiple users are alerted by a pop-up notification when opening the YouTube app in dark mode, reports 9to5Google. Deployment seems to have started. But not all users have the opportunity to switch to the dark design. Thus, the video platform extends a feature, which exists since mid-March 2018 for the iPhone. In the browser version of YouTube, the dark mode is even available since 2017. Therefore, the function for Android is quite late.
YouTube "Dark Mode" spares your eyes
In its dark design, YouTube displays bright white areas in dark gray and changes the font color to white to be readable on the dark floor. The set not only looks chic, but also protects your eyes in the dark, as the application thus avoids the dazzling white areas that might dazzle you.
To activate the mode on Android, you need in the settings Activate the corresponding button under "General" in the YouTube application. If you have an Apple device, go to your profile photo, then to the settings, finally to the "dark design" point. YouTube is constantly working on optimizing its application, and the platform's developers have recently promised additional help to discover new content. The application also offers an incognito mode.
