In the email, GMX and Web.de offer a new AI system to help users keep track in mailboxes. The automation will ensure that the administration and sorting are supported as much as possible so that the user does not have to search for important information any longer.
As announced by the two affiliates of the United Internet Group, according to a report from the DPA news agency, but the new system is gradually introduced. This does not only mean a limited number of initial users, but also a concentration of features. As of today, up to one million users have now received invitations to participate in the program.
In terms of content, the AI system focuses first and foremost on the different messages that users of online stores receive after a purchase. These must be automatically recognized in the mailbox and sorted into corresponding groups. If everything works as expected, the user can be informed of the delivery confirmation of the logistics company.
Not only the sorting
The work of artificial intelligence in the background should not only refer to sorting the appropriate emails. It should also independently extract and process the information mentioned in the notifications. For example, it should then be possible to see directly in the mailbox where the shipment was last marked in tracking shipments.
In the future, the two courier providers want to go even further. The AI should then be able to sort the messages here, for example, also according to different categories such as contracts or appointments or even depending on the projects. Users can activate the system step by step for themselves and, for example, choose whether they only want to sort their messages or they simply want to retrieve other contents.
