Astronaut Alexander Gerst is the first German to take command of the ISS. During the long-term "Horizons" mission, which began on June 8 and lasts until December 2018, Gerst will be the leader of the six-man crew for two months.

The astronaut already shares his Twitter account breathtaking images from space. One of them bears the title: "Earth or Mars?". The picture shows a planet colored in red. In fact, our neighbor's closest neighbor in the space looks like our own land. However, Gerst's explanation quickly reveals that it's the Earth: "Maybe we're more like our neighboring orange planet that we love."

Nevertheless, the image on Twitter arouses enthusiasm. Many users are enthusiastic about the recording and about it. The red color of the image is also explained in the comments. It's probably just a photo of the Sahara.
