F For the break between Mesut Özil and the German Football Federation (DFB), both parties bear the responsibility of almost half of the eligible voters in Germany (47%). This is shown by the latest "Germany Trend" by Infratest dimap on behalf of "ARD Morgenmagazin". Almost three in ten respondents (29%) say that Özil is primarily responsible, and only one in seven (14%) blames the DFB in the first place.

The footballer and the DFB were hit hard by Özil resigned from the German national football team and accused the DFB, among other things, racism. He had already received a lot of criticism for a photo with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
