Complaints about the display pile up ⊂ · ⊃ CURVED.de

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a well-equipped smartphone, but not without weaknesses. Among other things, we criticized the curved display in our review. The screen does not seem to happen to a lot of users.

In various forums and social networks, users should complain about the Huawei Mate 20 Pro's display, reports GSMArena. The affected screens appear to have a greenish tinge on the edges under certain circumstances, as you can see in the tweet at the end of this article. The problem is likely to occur with very dark and white screen contents.

Only LG screens concerned?

The green edges should be particularly recognizable in the dark. According to various forum posts, however, not all devices appear to be affected. Apparently, there is a connection to the built-in screen: the manufacturer uses in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro both LG panels and BOE displays. These are apparently spared by the green edges.

Some users of the Mate 20 Pro badume that the adhesive used by Huawei is causing the problem and accordingly label their claims with the hashtag "Gluegate". A moderator of the company's forums however blamed the curved edges of the screen. This could result in color deviations depending on the viewing angle.

In dimly lit environments, they can be particularly noticeable, especially if you have set a dark background or a low screen brightness at the same time. However, Huawei has distanced itself from GSMArena: it is not an official statement of the manufacturer. This is still waiting.
