When professionals from Frankfurt's Eintracht lined up on Thursday at 1pm in their black shirts for a team photo, one of them did not still smiled at the camera: the last comer Francisco, called "Chico", Geraldes. What has already been glimpsed in recent weeks is now clear: the commitment of the 23-year-old playmaker of Sporting Lisbon. "It's a very interesting player," Eintracht's coach, Adi Htter, does not train in the morning yet. The sighting of maps such as the Geraldes transfer has already been leaked, confirmed by Sporting's president to Portuguese media, but the ink contained in the contract was not yet dry. Geraldes himself had posted a photo on social networks that showed a plane ticket – bound for Frankfurt. It was picked up at noon by the Ben Manga team planner at the airport
Eintracht had been in contact with the 23-year-old for weeks after the FR's information and agreed with him. Only problem: Ablse. While Frankfurt wanted to limit itself to a maximum of five, six million euros in Lisbon, third club of last season, the traditional club demanded much more. Apparently, Geraldes has an exit clause of 45 million euros anchored in his contract – too much for Hesse.
As a result, it was now agreed to a one – year loan, with no option to purchase, as announced by Jos de Sousa Cintra. "Yes, he is rewarded and with no option to buy, he wanted to play, he goes and then he comes back," said the president of Sporting. This is not a new situation for Geraldes. Formerly, the only small 1.74 meter playmaker was dropped several times at other clubs – 2016 for half a year at FC Moreirense, last season at FC Rio Ave. Geraldes is considered agile, dribbles hard and especially as a good coach. In 49 league games in Portugal, he got four and ten badists. Last season, he was the undisputed star of the Rio Ave first division and scored three goals in 30 sets. There were also seven models. These are certainly decent values, but also not remarkable.
To what extent the 23-year-old lubrique can prevail in the clearly stronger federal league compared to the Portuguese elite clbad, must now show. It is clear, however, that the air for some seasoned professionals Eintracht even thinner. For Marc Stendera, for example, in preparation with much less weight than last season on the road and also with a good performance, should have no future in Frankfurt. By the two newcomers, Chico Geraldes and Allan Souza (see article right), Eintracht again dramatically increased the amount in the central midfield.
