In recent days, the Mate 20 Pro is commercially available and Huawei is already distributing a first update for its new smartphone. This brings the creator Christian de Techloupe on Twitter. On the other hand, the update is not yet available for download on our test device. The update of about 369 megabytes does not change the Android version, but fixes some bugs in the firmware. The update aims to improve the performance of Face Unlock. More details about this remain guilty for Huawei.
Before the launch on the market, a video on the net caused a sensation, in which the online magazine AndroidPit showed that facial recognition in 3D could be foiled by people of similar appearance. That this problem has been resolved by the update remains open. We could not reproduce this bug in our review of the Mate 20 Pro.
New filters and AI zoom
The update also brings new features to the camera. You will find new filters in the app after the update as well as the AI zoom function for videos. With this, the camera automatically follows the image, recognizes moving objects and zooms in on them.
