Above all, the previously rudimentary multiplayer function and the basic construction on the procedurally generated planets have been extended. According to the developers, the update named "Next" is an important step in the game's journey of almost two years.
An Atlas of the Universe
Since the update, players can not only customize their character, but also explore the universe with a group of friends or missions together. But they must not remain peaceful, but can also combine and even fight against "epic space battles". The community also has a new website dedicated to collecting special locations in the vast universe of No Man's Sky. This atlas should also continue to grow thanks to feedback from users.
Unlike previous years, the basics can only be used at predefined locations to be built anywhere on the planet – even under water. In order to grow, the previous limits have been increased and many components added. Players can now have several bases on different celestial bodies. In the space, players can collect entire fleets and order them. In addition, the graphics have been improved, so spaceships are now much more detailed.
