Qualcomm used the 4 / 5G summit in Beijing, China, to present the Snapdragon 675 for smartphones. The system-on-a-chip is a mid-range model, but at least the processor speed is superior and above all more modern, as its name suggests. Typically, Qualcomm introduces new processor cores for high-end SoCs. That's why the Kryo 460 Snapdragon 675 is quite unusual.

Behind the two Kryo 460s, two modified Cortex-A76s are hidden, so the current core of the British developer of IP, ARM. The cryo clocks 460 at 2 GHz are complemented by six Cortex-A55 at 1.6 GHz. Compared to the Cryo 360 of Snapdragon 670, based on the Cortex-A75 and clocked at 2 GHz also, Qualcomm promises a 35% increase in web browsing performance. In practical terms, the two Snapdragon 675 Cryo 460s are also faster than the Snapdragon 710's two Cryo 360s.

The other features of the Snapdragon 675 include an Adreno 612 integrated graphics engine on which Qualcomm has not commented. The LTE modem is a Snapdragon X12, it manages 600 Mbps downstream and 150 Mbps upstream. The SoC is manufactured by Samsung in the 11LPP process (11 nm Low Power Plus). According to South Koreans, the 11LPP chips would have a 15% higher switching speed and a 10% surface reduction compared to 14nm Low Power Plus.

For the chip, Qualcomm also calls 90% of hangers or reduced jacks in games. These are specially adapted, for example, Pubg, which is why we expect a software process similar to that of the Huawei Turbo GPU.
