Seven goals, but no points: Eintracht Braunschweig is subject to VfL Osnabrück

There was a lot of applause, but again, no points: before 6:45 pm, the spectators lost against Eintracht Braunschweig, third division of football, against leader VfL Osnabrück with a score of 3: 4 (2: 2) Braunschweig remains in last place, but the performance was anything but ready for relegation.

The four starters (modified by Frederik Tingager) had a good start and had several opportunities to score. Coach André Schubert did not allow the walls to be walled but brave – and his team also showed a game culture from the start.

This was rewarded in the 17th minute, when Felix Agu of Osnabrück shot a Philipp Hofmann center in his own goal – 1: 0. But the joy only lasted two minutes. Since Gustav Valsvik headed almost identical to a cross of this Agu also in their own home.

But the dominant Braunschweiger did the same. After a corner, Leandro Putaro met Abstauber at 2: 1 (38th). Duplicity of events: Two minutes later, the equalizer fell. Marc Heider slipped into a cross that Valsvik could not clear.

A dubious penalty (Stephan Fürstner would have committed a foul on Marcos Alvarez) helped Osnabrück to take the advantage. Alvarez himself converted the penalty in the 48th minute. And for the third time, there was a goal two minutes later – but this time for the same team. However, after his victory in the penalty area, Alvarez raised the score to 4-2 for Osnabrück.

Hofmann fails a promising position

The Eintracht did not put his head in the sand and continued to run the Osnabrücker Tor, even between 9 and 0 bends. When Hofmann appeared in front of the keeper in the 68th minute, without success, the 3: 4 would have been possible. After that, it became more and more difficult.

And yet, it was exciting again when substitute, Manuel Janzer, was hitting a low shot to get the score to 3: 4 (82 '). However, the well-deserved compensation was no longer successful.
