In the entry-level model, Microsoft has installed a slow eMMC with 64 GB of memory. The most expensive model for just under 600 euros has a "real" SSD.
With the Surface Go, Microsoft wants to offer students and students a cheaper version of the iPad. The tablet is equipped with a 10-inch screen, which offers a resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels. Weighing 522 grams, the Surface Go is slightly heavier than a comparable iPad that weighs 469 grams.

Users also have to compromise on storage equipment. The basic version of the Surface Go offers 4GB of RAM and only a slow eMMC memory with a capacity of 64GB. Half of them is probably already occupied by Windows and because of the slow eMMC memory , Windows updates should be a test of patience. After all, the best-equipped 128GB and 8GB RAM variant has a conventional SSD. In fact, even an NVMe model will be used. For this Microsoft asks in this country barely 600 euros. The entry-level model should be pre-ordered from today, but it will be delivered in early August. Later in the year, a model with LTE and 256 GB of memory will be offered. The operating system is Windows 10 S preinstalled, but it can be converted to conventional domestic version free. The Go is the first surface tablet to offer a USB-C port. Battery capacity, Microsoft has not yet expressed, but the manufacturer promises 9 hours of time. Like Surface Pro models, the Surface Go features a 5 megapixel camera with Windows hello support at the front and an 8 megapixel version at the back.
