The WhatsApp Messenger for iOS has been updated. Some new features are included, including support for the new iPhone XS Max display format. Interestingly, what is not there yet officially, but only on the first images, is visible: the new dark mode of WhatsApp.

Alpha phase, at the very beginning
The dark mode of WhatsApp was only discovered last month by browsing the installation files of the android application. It now presents the first images of the darker appearance of the messenger. This dark theme for WhatsApp is currently in an early development phase, according to information from WhatsApp's online magazine Beta Info. WhatsApp Beta Info now displays some first exclusive screenshots of what Dark Mode looks like on the iPhone.
The optics must be aligned
Since this is still the alpha phase, it is highly likely that development will continue to fine-tune on the user interface and that the optics will change until later public availability. Currently, the background color of the news in dark mode is dark gray, the background of the application is black.
The user can easily change
