Quietly and secretly, Huawei unveiled its new mid-range smartphone, leaving only the question of the open price. It will likely be unveiled at a presentation announced on July 18th.

Technical Data

According to the Huawei VMall official store, the Huawei Nova 3's LCD screen measures 6.3 inches. It resolves to the 19: 9 format with 1.080 x 2.340 pixels and now has the ubiquitous Notch. Inside is the Kirin 970, which works with eight hearts. The rumors went so far away from a much weaker processor equipment. So here, Huawei puts a point of exclamation towards the competition like Samsung or Motorola. The RAM is 6 GB while the internal memory is 128 GB. It can be inflated by another 256 GB. All you have to do is insert a corresponding memory card.

Especially the built-in cameras had high expectations. The rear dual camera resolves with 16 and 24 megapixels. There is an opening of 1: 1.8. Also at the front two cameras are installed, which record with 24 and 2 megapixels. A mix of 1: 2.0 completes the duet. The origin of the iris is not explained by Huaweiwei. However, it is clear that the connectivity of the Huawei Nova 3 is a double-edged sword. Thus, the standard mopderne USB Type-C is used, but only the old version Bluetooth 4.2. The capacity of the battery is 3.650 mAh, which is good value for money. However, charging is only possible via USB 2.0 and not via the more modern 3.1.

The software should use Android version 8.1 Oreo. Huawei launches the internal software package EMUI 8.2

Price and Availability

In China, the smartphone is offered in the Huawei online store, but it is not yet available. Until now, only pre-orders are possible. The smartphone is available in four colors: gold, light blue, anthracite and purple. What is doing in Germany remains uncertain. On request from the inside also practical Huawei Germany could give no statement on the prices and the starting market in this country. However, experience shows that it will probably take a long time for the Nova 3 also to disrupt the German market

The predecessor in the test

The Nova 2 in the test convinced with 4 stars on 5. Above all, the big case and the strong software have distinguished themselves positively. The stable battery with a high charging speed has also fallen. However, there was room for improvement in terms of performance. Even the camera could not convince despite flash display. The pictures were noisy and rarely sharp.
