Borussia Mönchengladbach hat den Schweizer Nationalspieler Michael Lang verpflichtet. Der 27 Jahre alte Rechtsverteidiger erhält einen Vierjahresvertrag bis Juni 2022. Das teilte der Klub am Freitag mit.

"Michael Lang ist ein Außenverteidiger mit viel Offensivdrang und internationaler Erfahrung", sagte Sportdirektor Max Eberl. Langs Vertrag beim FC Basel lief noch bis Juni 2019. Über die Höhe der Ablösesumme machten beide Vereine keine Angaben.

Fußball-Bundesligist Schalke 04 investiert zehn Millionen Euro in den defensiven spanischen Mittelfeldspieler Omar Mascarell, der zuletzt bei Eintracht Frankfurt spielte. Den Wechsel bestätigten beide Vereine am Donnerstagabend. Der 25-Jährige erhält einen Vierjahresvertrag beim Vizemeister.

"Für mich ist es ein unglaubliches Gefühl, künftig für diesen großen Klub mit diesem tollen Stadion spielen zu können", sagte Mascarell. Schalke s Trainer Domenico Tedesco sagte: "Wir sind sehr froh, dbad Omar Mascarell unseren Weg mitgehen will. Er ist ein Spieler, der uns gut tun wird und der seine Qualitäten schon in der Bundesliga unter Beweis gestellt hat."

Die Transferrechte für Mascarell liegen bei Real Madrid, der Champions-League-Sieger soll eine Rückkaufoption für vier Millionen Euro besitzen. Am Donnerstag absolvierte Mascarell den Medizincheck auf Schalke.

Mascarell ist nach Mark Uth (1899 Hofffenheim), Salif Sane (Hannover 96), Suat Serdar (FSV Mainz 05) und Steven Skrzybski (1. FC Union Berlin) der fünfte Neuzugang des FC Schalke 04 für die kommende Saison.

Der lange erwartete Wechsel des ehemaligen englischen Fußball-Nationalspielers Wayne Rooney zum US-Club DC United in die nordamerikanische Profi-Liga MLS ist perfekt. Der 32 Jahre alte Stürmer und der Hauptstadt-Verein haben laut Mitteilung der Major League Soccer vom Donnerstag einen über mehrere Jahre laufenden Vertrag unterzeichnet.

"Nach Amerika und in die MLS zu gehen, erfüllt eine weitere Ambition in meiner Karriere. Ich bin hungrig auf Erfolge und will für DC 100 Prozent geben – so wie ich es bislang bei jedem Team getan habe, für das ich gespielt habe", sagte Rooney, der nach 13 Jahren beim englischen Rekordmeister Manchester United vor der zurückliegenden Premier-League-Saison zu seinem Jugendclub Everton zurückgekehrt war.

Rooney bestritt zwischen 2003 und 2016 insgesamt 119 Länderspiele für die Three Lions; im Trikot der Nationalmannschaft erzielte der bullige Angreifer 53 Tore – damit ist er Rekordtorschütze.

Offiziell darf Rooney DC United erst am 10. Juli verstärken, da sich erst dann das Transferfenster in der MLS öffnet. Sein Debüt könnte er bereits vier Tage später im Spiel gegen die Vancouver Whitecaps feiern.

Borussia Dortmund rüstet seinen Kader für die kommende Saison weiter auf. Wie der Champions-League-Teilnehmer am Dienstag bekannt gab, ist der Wechsel von Verteidiger Abdou Diallo perfekt. Der 22-Jährige kommt vom Ligarivalen FSV Mainz 05 und erhält in Dortmund einen Fünfjahresvertrag. Die Ablösesumme liegt Medienberichten zufolge bei 25 Millionen Euro.

"Abdou Diallo bringt sehr vieles von dem mit, was wir von einem Zugang erwarten", sagte BVB-Sportdirektor Michael Zorc. "Er ist ein moderner, spielstarker und dazu sehr intelligenter Innenverteidiger. Er kann aber auch außen verteidigen oder im defensiven Mittelfeld zum Einsatz kommen. Die Kombination aus seinem großen Potenzial und seiner Vielseitigkeit hat Abdou für uns so interessant gemacht", sagte Zorc weiter.

Diallo war erst im vergangenen Sommer vom AS Monaco nach Mainz gewechselt. Für die Rheinhessen absolvierte der Franzose 27 Ligaspiele und erzielte dabei zwei Tore. Einen weiteren Treffer bereitete er vor.

In Kopenhagen wird der langjährige RB-Kapitän nun wieder mit dem ehemaligen RB-Trainer Alexander Zorniger zusammenarbeiten. Nach Angaben der Dänen unterzeichnete Kaiser einen Vertrag mit einer Laufzeit von zwei Jahren.

Kaiser spielte sechs Jahre bei den Leipzigern und stieg mit der Mannschaft von der Regionalliga bis in die Bundesliga auf. Ihm zu Ehren gab es am 13. Mai ein Abschiedsspiel.

Fußball-Zweitligist Holstein Kiel hat Innenverteidiger Stefan Thesker vom niederländischen Traditionsclub FC Twente Enschede verpflichtet. Der 27-Jährige unterschreibt bei den Norddeutschen einen Dreijahresvertrag bis zum 30. Juni 2021. In Enschede stand Thesker seit Sommer 2016 unter Vertrag und war dort Kapitän; zuvor spielte er unter anderen bei Greuther Fürth, Hannover 96 und der TSG Hoffenheim.

"Der erfolgreiche und sympathische Weg der Störche ist auch in Holland nicht unbemerkt geblieben", so Thesker. "Die Art, wie Holstein Fußball spielt, der familiäre Verein, die Stadt Kiel – dieses Paket pbadt einfach perfekt zu mir", sagte er.

"Stefan ist ein sehr erfahrener Spieler, der schon einige namhafte Stationen in seiner Karriere vorweisen kann", sagte Holsteins Sportdirektor Fabian Wohlgemuth. "Durch seine Verpflichtung konnten wir einen routinierten Innenverteidiger gewinnen, der nicht nur auf dem Platz Verantwortung übernehmen soll."

Laut "Corriere dello Sport" haben die Mailänder von RB Leipzig ein Angebot von über 30 Millionen Euro für den türkischen Nationalspieler erhalten.

Dem 24-jährigen Mittelfeldspieler winkt ein Vertrag mit einem Gehalt von drei Millionen Euro pro Saison, berichtete das Blatt. Milan, das mit finanziellen Problemen zu kämpfen hat, prüfe das Angebot. Der Freistoßspezialist konnte bei den Lombarden die hoch gesteckten Erwartungen nicht erfüllen.

Der italienische Spitzenklub AS Rom hat den 19-jährigen Justin Kluivert unter Vertrag genommen. Der Niederländer wechselt für eine Ablösesumme von 17,25 Millionen Euro von Ajax Amsterdam zur Roma. Der Linksaußen erhält beim Halbfinalisten der Champions-League einen Vertrag bis 2023. 

"Ich denke, sie können mich zu einem größeren, stärkeren Spieler machen", sagte Kluivert. In der abgelaufenen Saison erzielte er für Ajax zehn Tore in 30 Ligaspielen. Er ist der Sohn des ehemaligen Champions-League-Siegers Patrick Kluivert.

Er tritt die Nachfolge von Phillip Cocu an, der zu Fenerbahçe Istanbul in die Türkei wechselt. Van Bommel war bereits von 1999 bis 2005 und in der Saison 2012/13 als Spieler für die PSV aktiv. Der ehemalige Profi von Bayern München gewann in dieser Zeit mit Eindhoven vier Meisterschaften.

Fußball-Bundesligist Hannover 96 hat Luca Beckenbauer für seine U19-Mannschaft verpflichtet. Der Enkel von Franz Beckenbauer verlässt nach zwei Jahren die Kaderschmiede des FC Schalke 04 und schließt sich den Niedersachsen an. Für die U19 der Knappen machte der Innenverteidiger in der vergangenen Saison nur ein Pflichtspiel.

Der 17-Jährige begann mit dem Fußballspielen beim FC Bayern München – dem Verein, bei dem sein Großvater, Weltmeister von 1974 und 1990, Ehrenpräsident ist. Luca Beckenbauer war im Sommer 2016 nach dem Tod seines Vaters Stephan Beckenbauer, der im August 2015 einem Hirntumor erlag, vom FC Bayern München nach Gelsenkirchen gewechselt.

++ Torhüter-Ikone Buffon soll zu PSG wechseln ++

Italiens Torhüter-Ikone G ianluigi Buffon steht kurz vor seinem Wechsel zu Frankreichs Fußballmeister Paris St. Germain. Der Manager des 40-Jährigen, Silvano Martina, habe sich mit dem Pariser Klub auf einen Zweijahresvertrag und einem Gehalt von acht Millionen Euro per annum für Buffon geeinigt, berichteten italienische Medien.

Der Star-Torwart, der sich nach dieser Saison von Juventus Turin verabschiedet hatte, habe bereits eine Wohnung in Paris gemietet. Der Vertrag soll spätestens bis Ende dieser Woche unterschrieben werden, hieß es.

Dies gab der 26-Jährige via Instagram bekannt und nannte mangelnde Aussicht auf Spielzeit unter dem neuen Teammanager Unai Emery als Begründung.

"Es war immer mein Wunsch zu bleiben. Deshalb hatte ich auch zugestimmt, einen Vertrag mit weniger Gehalt zu unterschreiben", schrieb Wilshere, dessen Vertrag zum 30. Juni ausläuft: "Nach mehreren langen Gesprächen mit dem Klub, speziell mit dem neuen Teammanager, hatte ich aber das Gefühl, dbad ich kaum eine andere Möglichkeit habe, als aus rein sportlichen Gründen den Klub zu verlbaden."

Wilshere, der sein letztes Länderspiel 2016 bestritt und nicht zu Englands WM-Aufgebot gehört, war als Neunjähriger zu den Gunners gekommen. Zweimal war er verliehen worden, 2010 zu den Bolton Wanderers sowie 2016/17 an den AFC Bournemouth.
