A 32-year-old pregnant woman known as "Mama" and her 7-year-old son were confirmed dead after the fire that destroyed their home Tuesday night in Afram Plains in the area of East
His other son (19459004) is in critical condition at the Atibie government hospital in the southern district of Afram Plains, in the Eastern Region
. The incident occurred around 7 pm, after a heavy downpour. The rain that started around 1 am according to a resident known as DJ Joe lasted a while. He said he saw the fire later in the house.
He told Ebenezer Kojo Nyavor, of FM Agoo, that they had heard a loud voice calling them for help only to see a nearby house also on fire. It took the residents intervention to extinguish the raging fire.
He revealed that the deceased husband would sell fuel but could hardly identify the main cause of the incident.
A nearby source also added that the state of energy crisis in the region may have triggered the sad incident.
The other son according to DJ Joe was saved later but is in critical condition.
Due to the nature of the injuries, he was immediately transported to the Atibie Government Hospital
Police from the area were able to visit the scene and transport the remains to lead others. investigations
