Beyonce and Jay-Z will head a world stage A citizen festival in honor of Nelson Mandela in South Africa at the end of the year

The concert of 2 December in Johannesburg is one of the events marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of the anti-apartheid leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

Other stars of the festival are Ed Sheeran, Usher, Pharrell Williams and African artists including Wizkid, Cbadper Nyovest and Femi Kuti.

Oprah Winfrey will deliver a speech on the legacy of Mandela, who died in 2013, said the organizers. Naomi Campbell and actors Forest Whitaker and Tyler Perry will be among the other hosts

The Global Citizen movement aims to end extreme poverty by 2030 and its Mandela 100 campaign hopes to bring 1 billion dollars of new promises to the poor.
