Ethiopian Airlines and DHL Global Forwarding signed an agreement Thursday that allows them to form a joint venture that provides global freight and logistics services.
The new company named DHL-Ethiopian Airlines Logistics Services Ltd. will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and will serve the entire African market. The Reporter has learned that Ethiopian Airlines, the largest aviation group in Africa, and DHL, the world's leading freight forwarder, will invest more than 10 million euros in the new joint venture being created.

Amadou Diallo, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding in the Middle East and Africa, said The Reporter that Ethiopian Airlines would own 51% of the shares while DHL would hold 49% of the capital of the new joint venture.

Diallo revealed that DHL is not come to Ethiopia to do business only. "We have a vision to train young Ethiopians and other Africans how to do freight shipping."
