Franklin Cudjoe's comments on WASSCE's results are unfounded and ridiculous!

IMANI Ghana, over the years, has been one of the most revered institutions in Ghana and beyond. The think tank has conducted extensive policy and program research and proposed some measures to help address some of the problems that successive governments have faced. However, the trajectory adopted by the company recently, thanks to its founding father, Franklin Cudjoe, erodes the serene beauty for which IMANI is known.

Having had his vile propaganda against the Department of Communications and the National Communications Authority about the torched KelniGVG contract, Franklin Cudjoe found it necessary to redeem his bruised image with any straw with which his eyes enter in touch.

It is on this backdrop that the president of IMANI Ghana is in town The results of the WASSCE candidates who have just been published and the preaching of the disaster announce that one very dark future awaits the students benefiting from the free SHS who will sit in WASSCE.

Indeed, omniscient and custodian of all knowledge, Franklin Cudjoe creates the impression that If these non-Free SHS students have performed abysmal exams, then it makes sense to think that those in the Free SHS program will have a more Bad Mance.

Borrowing his strange theory of mathematics and English percentages in the 2017 results, Cudjoe is projecting into the future without embarking on a similar trip in the past to look at their numbers.

In 2013, 19.15% of the candidates who pbaded the exams were successful in the basic subjects.

In the year 2014, 28.11% pbaded in core subjects including English and Mathematics.

In 2015, WAEC reported that 25.29% were successful in mathematics, 23.63% in integrated sciences and 50.29% in English

from 52.25% in 2016 to 73.27% while integrated science jumped from 43.66% in 2016 to 50.52% in 2017. Franklin Cudjoe conveniently ignores these facts and looks at those that match his tendentious motives.

The guage is not doing well according to these statistics, it is important to note that this trend has lived with us since time immemorial. It is therefore surprising that Franklin Cudjoe has a tendency to blame the government of the day for these results and to cast a dark and gloomy picture of the future in the WASSCE exams yet to be written.

The rather mercurial vicissitudes of these results clearly defeat Franklin Cudjoe's relentless efforts to reduce Free High School policy implementation.

The challenges of our education sector are multiple and can not be attributed to a single event. This staging by Franklin Cudjoe for Ghanaians to flatter the free SHS policy when students pbad their exams in the future should be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians.

It would seem that the failure of Mr. Cudjoe to win the argument against the KelniGVG contract has pushed him to fix his attention on a policy that is at the heart of Ghanaians as well as this administration .

Franklin Cudjoe is far from his comments on student performance in the WASSCE 2017 results. His understanding of the free SHS policy is superficial. He tries everything in his power to plunge his IMANI equipment into oblivion with such baseless claims.
