The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) loses 280 million Cedis due to the recent reduction of the electricity tariff by the Public Utility Regulatory Commission. Mr. Jonathan Amoako-Baah, CEO of GRIDCo, who revealed this, said the loss of revenue could affect the company's actual operations.

According to him, they wrote to the companies to inform them to regularize or to disconnect. He said however that even though ECG consumes about 70% of the electricity produced and owes GRIDCo 90 million Cedis, disconnecting the national grid was not an option as it would affect customer consumption.
