Koforidua (E / R), July 25, GNA – A helicopter
carrying gold bullion from Chirano mines in Bibiani-Abhwiaso-Bekwai
District in Accra, was forced to make an emergency landing in a cornfield at
Kumikrom near Asamankese after developing a mechanical flaw.

The pilot and three other persons (a customs
officer and two men from the security of the mining company) aboard the plane, escaped
unscathed.

The regional police public relations officer confirmed this to news from Ghana
Agency (GNA).

He said that the precious cargo (gold) was

Another helicopter arrived later to
the gold, packed in boxes, with the pilot and the other three pbadengers.

The defective plane was still at Kumikrom
police guard at the time of filing this story.
