Kwaku Sintim Misa (KSM), a comedian of seasoned actors, criticized Ghana's creative arts community for settling on Gollywood to give a new image to the film industry.

Actors, including the leadership of various film industry groups launched the name of Gollywood in Ghana's 60 Years on Film Summit which took place on July 12, 2018, at the Accra International Conference Center.

Present in the program were Ghana Actors Guild President, Samuel Fiscian and South African High Commissioner to Ghana, HE Lulu Xingwana, among others

According to KSM, Gollywood's name is "ridiculous" and lack of "originality"

"GHOLLYWOOD" This name should be considered a CRIME.How can you be in the CREATIVE arts industry and find a name that puts ORIGINALITY above ORIGINAL creative people they do not imitate, "the TV host tweeted.

Speaking in an interview with Hitz FM, Mr. Misa said that he would have preferred "Gh Cinema" to "Gollywood" which is simply an imitation

"How can a group of creative people be able to Sit down and find the name of Gollywood, should there be a "wood", or is it because others add "wood" to him, "the film industry is basically paralyzed and if you are a talented screenwriter in Ghana, where do you send your script? Are there ways to market your script? You come with a great movie, are there any chances that they can be distributed technically? "

" The name is a ridiculous name, which is why I call it a crime, "said KSM
