Naa Dakpema Mohammed Dawuni Alhbadan, the leader of Tamale, has died as a result of a short illness. He died 76 years old.
The powerful traditional ruler died at the University Hospital of Tamale where he was receiving treatment.
He was reportedly taken to hospital on Friday after complaining that he was not feeling well.
The leader, who is Muslim by faith, will be buried today [Sunday July 15] according to Islamic tradition
