The State Council approves Jean Mensa as President of the EC – Politics

The candidate for the presidency of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, has been approved by the State Council, despite the opposition of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr. Samuel Tettey – Vice President, Dr. Eric Asare Bossman – Vice President and Mrs. Adwoa Asuama Abrefa – Member of the Commission, were also approved by the Council.

Confirmation by the State Council of the President's candidates was reported by Accra Starr FM

The NDC strongly criticized the decision of President Akufo-Addo to appoint Jean Mensa as President of the Electoral Commission (CE)

. According to the party, Jean Mensah is unfit to hold the position of President of the EC, insisting that she has close ties with the new Patriotic Party (NPP).

The approval of the president's candidates is expected to open the referendum door on the creation of new regions and the elections to next year's badembly
