Press Conference to Declare My Purpose To Compete for the NDC National Communication Officer

INTRODUCTION

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, Akatamanson comrades, hello and welcome to this program. Allow me to take this opportunity to thank our media friends for honoring our invitation in such a short time and for their dedicated service to our nation.

I would also like to thank and especially thank the Honorable Member for this constituency, the Hon. Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, chairman of the NDC board and its leaders, all leaders of the NDC, as well as members of the NDC of Odododiodio, who host the program today.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have invited you here this morning to formally declare my intention to seek the post of CND National Communication Officer at the National Delegates Congress of our party this year.

This forum will also give me the opportunity to trace my agenda and lead the team's leadership (TEAM SAMMY GYAMFI) who will manage my candidacy in the imminent campaign.

Ladies and Gentlemen, NDCs Government Performance Remains Unprecedented and Undeniably Excellent

Our Record of Sound and Prudent Economic Management, Infrastructure Dynamism, Good Governance and the Rule of Law Remains Unmatched over the years.

Despite this strong record, we were excluded from power in the 2016 general election. However, today, Ghanaians are living witnesses to the campaign of lies and slander that led them to reject a So impressive government of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for a government that has become the biggest disappointment of our time. Throughout this period, many comrades encouraged me to take the next step by placing myself in the elective position to fill the position of national communications officer for the Grand NDC. I am pleased to inform today the many supporters of the NDC across Ghana today, I have thought, widely consulted and humbly decided to consider their appeal.

MESSAGE FROM THE CAMPAIGN

Comrades, Election 2020 is a must-win for us. However, this victory will not come as a mere consequence of the abysmal performance of the government led by Akufo-Addo. Our strategies, policies and programs for the 2020 election must be propelled by research-driven and leading-edge communication that positions us as a better alternative to the government of the day.

To achieve this, a Communication Directorate led by Sammy-Gyamfi will work with all stakeholders to implement the 10-point AGENDA described below, with the aim of developing a robust communication mechanism , strategic and dynamic capable of at the NDC in 2020.

THE AGENDA IN 10 POINTS

1. Restructure and strengthen the CND's communication structures at all levels to ensure the efficiency of our communication system.

2. SPECIFIC INITIATIVES: In a spirit of teamwork, I will collaborate with all stakeholders to introduce special communication programs and innovations that will expose the deceptions and incompetence of the Akufo-Addo Government .

These programs will include:
• The Minute of Truth Series
• Never Again Series
• Communication for Popular Mobilization
• Community Activities
I believe these special programs will rejuvenate our base and will advance the course of the NDC.

3. CONTINUING CAPACITY BUILDING: Under my leadership, the Communications Department will be constantly training and providing the necessary resources to all communications officers and teams in the regions and constituencies so that they can effectively fulfill their role.

4. RESEARCH-BASED COMMUNICATION: A communications department led by Sammy Gyamfi will establish a proactive and responsive research department and will set up other information gathering systems for party communication.

5. PANEL PLACEMENT SYSTEM: With the support of the party leadership, we will revise the current panel placement system and introduce a well-coordinated panel placement system for all political talk shows across the length and breadth of the country. We will also ensure discipline and strict adherence to the communication strategy to ensure the consistency and consistency of the party's communication mechanisms.

6. Under my leadership, the Communications Department RECRUTE, TRAIN and MENTOR a new category of communicators with special consideration for women and young people through a formalized system.

7. EFFECTIVE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION: Under my leadership, we will put in place timely, proactive and responsive information dissemination systems for all communication structures at all levels of the party. 8. SOCIAL MEDIA: In order to continue an aggressive social media campaign for the 2020 general election, I will work with our social communicators and other stakeholders to build a well-coordinated social media department and put in place a support system

9. Under my leadership, the communications group will deepen its collaboration with the media, academics, professionals, civil society organizations (CSOs) and other neutrals in all sectors of our nation, to advance 39; agenda of the CND.
