Seniors’ night was full of wild swings, tense moments and even some light high fives with the kids.

Still, at the end of the night, the visiting Hastings Tigers spoiled Aurora’s night, beating the Lady Huskies in five points, 26-24, 13-25, 25-20, 25-27 and 15-11.

Under the watchful eye of Aurora’s little diggers, Aurora started the fifth set-up 5-2 with help from Kasey Schuster, Rachel Hunter and Aleah Vinkenberg.

Lexi Jones and Hunter helped Aurora stay ahead, 7-5, but only for a moment as Hastings led 9-8.

From there, the Tigers used a 5-1 run to go up 13-9 and despite a block and a kill from Delaney Nachtigal, moved away to win the game.

It was Aurora’s second five-set game in three days, beating Seward in five sets on Tuesday night. The Lady Huskies are now 3-2 in five sets.

Aurora has a week off before competing in next week’s Central Conference tournament, which is due to start on Thursday. Aurora is the reigning conference champion.
