CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Health officials have confirmed a second case of measles in northeastern Iowa.
According to a press release, this second case comes from an unvaccinated resident who would have had family contacts with the person in whom the first case of measles had been diagnosed in 2019 this month. The first confirmed case would have been unvaccinated and would come back from a trip to Israel.
Details on the exact location have not been provided.
Officials said that there was no threat to the public because this second case had been isolated from him during the measles incubation period.
