Huawei P30 Pro is a four-camera beast for the Galaxy S10 Plus

The Huawei P30 Pro and P30 Two new phones that the Chinese brand, and its main Android rival, announced Tuesday at a launch event in Paris. Both phones have colorful and shiny racks, but that's all the technology inside which Huawei hopes to push its new phones before the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10E.

I will talk about the standard Huawei P30 below, but it's the Pro that caught my attention. Its 6.47-inch screen is beautiful and vibrant with a small notch centered for front cameras. The entire phone is powered by Huawei's Kirin 980 chip, while Android Pie is associated with the EMUI 9.1 software that reminds the iPhone of how apps are presented on multiple screens. 39; home. It offers not only a 5x zoom, but also a 10x zoom without too much loss of overall quality. This is a huge zoom for a phone and allows you to get close to details that would normally look like a normal digital zoom.

The Huawei P30 Pro and P30 are currently on sale worldwide. The P30 Pro starts in the UK at £ 899 (around US $ 1,190 converted) for the 128GB model and £ 1,099 for 512GB. Only one model is available in Australia for A $ 1,599. The P30, with 128GB of storage, costs £ 699 in the UK and AUD $ 1,099 in Australia. I spend time using this zoom lens and I am already impressed with what he can handle. The quality is not as good as that of a regular camera – the details are still a bit blurry – but it jumps over any other zoom lens that I've seen on a phone. This includes the S10 Plus, which only has a 2x zoom and just can not compete in terms of zoom alone.

The main camera has apparently been modified to capture light in a different way than the one usually found in camera sensors. It's a little too complicated to enter here, but you should know that it does not change the appearance of your images. The colors look natural and there is usually a decent exposure – although I've found that the S10 Plus balances a brighter sky a little better.

The low-light skills are apparently also a strong point for the P30 Pro, much as they were for the P20 Pro and the Mate 20 Pro before him. Huawei think that the sensor settings, associated with various AI improvements for stabilization, help to take the best shots in low light right now. I've certainly been impressed by what the phone can handle in the dark: get more detailed pictures, with more sharpness, better colors and less noise than the S10 Plus.

The fourth lens is a flight time sensor. It is there to give depth information to the camera, which allows for a more natural and natural looking bokeh (background blur) in an image. I have not noticed much depth-of-field improvement on the photos I've taken with this sensor, but that's one area I want to test more when it comes to Complete examination.

What about the ordinary Huawei P30?

The standard P30 is rather a lighter version with a smaller screen. It lacks the super zoom and Pro Pro depth cameras. Yes, it's the least exciting of the two, but it has at least one headphone jack – something you will not find on the Pro.

Both the Pro and the P30 Standard are beautiful phones with a curved glass design and a range of interesting color blends.

Huawei also offers a new set of wireless headphones, which you charge and link by plugging directly into the USB-C port on your phone.

There are no prices for phones or headphones yet, and we do not know exactly when they will go on sale. But we expect to hear more in the coming days.
