As if the images of the Earth were not scary enough.

An NASA engineer and astronaut shared Monday photos of Hurricane Dorian from the space.

The heartbreaking images were posted on Christina Koch's Twitter page after being captured from the International Space Station.

"#HurricaneDorian seen from @Space_Station earlier in the day," tweeted Koch, who is making his first flight into space.

"Hope everyone on their way stays safe," she said.

Last week, NASA shared a breathtaking video sequence of Dorian while he was crossing the Caribbean.

The storm hit the Bahamas in category 5, with sustained winds of 185 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. At least five people were killed by a hurricane, including a 7-year-old boy. There were more than 20 reported injuries.
