New Delhi, August 28 (Official Letter) The Indian spacecraft Chandrayaan-2 has completed its third maneuver in lunar orbit this Wednesday, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said in a statement.

ISRO said the operation helped Chandrayaan-2 reach an orbit of 179 km at the nearest point of the moon and 1412 km at the furthest point.

The next maneuver is scheduled for August 30, announced the Bengaluru-based space agency.

Placed in orbit 100 km from the surface of the Moon, the LG (Vikram), which carries a vehicle or an exploration vehicle (Pragyaan), will separate from the body-orbital composite organ to land smoothly on the natural satellite of the South Pole of the Earth September 7.

According to ISRO, Chandrayaan-2, the second Indian lunar expedition, will light up a totally unexplored part of the moon, its region of the South Pole. India's first mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-1, took place in 2008.
