KOMPAS.com – Clinical trials conducted by the University of La Trobe show that eating fish, particularly salmon, trout and sardines, can reduce asthma symptoms in children.

The international study found that children with asthma who follow a healthy Mediterranean diet and consume a lot of fish can improve their lung function after six months.

In the studies published in the journal Human Nutrition and Dietetics, clinical trials involving 64 children from Athens, Greece, aged 5 to 12 years and with a history of mild asthma.

Australian and Greek experts then divided the children into two groups.

The first group was asked to eat oily fish twice a week (at least 150 grams) as part of the Mediterranean diet for six months. While the second group was allowed to continue to live their eating habits.

As a result, bronchial inflammation in the first group has significantly decreased. The level of development of their health is very different from that of the second group.
