Study: Keep your eyes healthy, the brain will be primed

Keeping the brain in good shape can be done with regular exercise and eating foods rich in omega-3. Well, a recent US study called maintaining eye health also has benefits for the brain.

Diane Zheng of the Miami University School of Medicine calls to maintain the vision remains maximum, either by using glbades with appropriate lenses capable of rendering a person's cognitive function awake.

In a study published in the journal JAMA Ophthalmology, 2,520 adult participants studied vision and cognitive function for 8 years.

It was found that a decrease in vision was badociated with a reduced ability to perform cognitive tests. On the other hand, participants who overcame their vision loss by wearing glbades or performing cataract surgery were successful in the cognitive tests.

Researchers suspect that this is linked to reduced activity that stimulates the brain. People will be more lazy to read, crossword, or just chatting because of poor eyesight.

"The conclusion of this study is that vision is closely related to the brain, so if you have vision problems, feel free to fix it immediately," Zheng quoted Reuters as saying.
