For over a year, Bruce Springsteen has been doing something different. Rather than tirelessly traveling the planet, as he has done for so long, he has brought his gigantic charisma and tube catalog to a depth of a mile in a relatively small room in New York, interpreting every evening a Broadway show essentially acoustic solo. This show has already earned Springsteen an honorary Tony Award, and the people who have seen it – including our own Gabriela Tully Claymore – say a lot about it.
Of course, it's a bading Bruce Springsteen Broadway show, so it's virtually impossible to get tickets unless you're some kind of oil sheik. So it's good news that the rest of us, the citizens, are going to experience this show in the comfort of our living room. Netflix has filmed Springsteen's show on Broadway, which will air on the streaming service next month. (There's also a forthcoming soundtrack album.) And now, let's see a version of what it's going to look like.
Netflix has just shared a trailer for the Springsteen at Broadway show, and this thing is practically enough to make you tear already. In the trailer, we hear some pieces of songs that we already know very well, and we see a contemplative Springsteen tell the story of his life. Look below.
Springsteen at Broadway will be on Netflix 12/16. Now we all have to decide if we are going to look at this or if Alfonso Cuarón Roma first. Not an easy decision!
