Rugby Australia (RA) reportedly interrupted his phone conversation with former Springbok coach Jake White to discuss the possibility of replacing Wallabies coach Michael Cheika after history has fled to the media.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports RA's chief executive, Raelene Castle, was scheduled to speak to White today, at the request of the World Cup winning coach, but this conversation will no longer take place.

"Jake approached Raelene for a conversation but the announced call will not be given"The spokesman of the RA said.

White would also have offered his services to Japan, while RA is expected to meet Dec. 10 to discuss Cheika's future as the Wallabies' head coach after a disastrous season that saw him win only four of their 13 tests.

Fairfax Media understands that RA has in mind Scottish rugby director Scott Johnson, who is playing a similar role with the Wallabies as part of a revised high performance model designed to make the test environment more cooperative.
