An 80-year-old man died Thursday after his tractor hit a ditch at Co Leitrim.
According to Gardai, the man died when his tractor crashed into a ditch while he was leaving a field to go to a local road in Leckaun around 1 pm.
Emergency services and guards went to the scene.
The tractor driver was declared dead soon after.
The accident site has been preserved and will be examined by investigators for Garda's forensic collisions on Friday morning.
The local coroner was informed and the man's body was transported to Sligo University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
