Celtic won their first game away from the Europa League

Scott Sinclair scored the only goal of the match in Norway

A head of Scott Sinclair allowed Celtic to impose Thursday 1-0 against Rosenborg in the Europa League, which allowed them to be at a point of 32 last.

In the 42nd minute, Sinclair was at the home of a superb James Forrest center. It was enough for Celtic to take three crucial points, winning his first game outside the Europa League after 17 attempts in his current form.

The Salzburg Red Ball also defeating RB Leipzig 1-0 in the other Group B match, Celtic now need a point against Salzburg in two weeks to qualify for the knockout stages with the Austrians .

Rosenborg – who won her 26th Norwegian league title this weekend – is withdrawing from the competition without scoring more points and with only one match against Leipzig.

Celtic started the game well. Kieran Tierney's center barely made it six minutes later for Tom Rogic to come in at the far post. Goalkeeper André Hansen took a little longer. It was Rogic who was again involved in the 24th minute when Edward Odsonne put a Forrest cross on his way, but Hansen dropped the ball to repel him.

Rosenborg's best half-time opportunity came soon after Lanlay's Yann-Erik knocked Sinclair out of the ball before getting into the box. He hit a cross in the penalty area but Nicklas Bendtner was unable to reach the back post.

Celtic was coming close after the hour of play when Forrest entered the area before hitting, but Hansen stood at the far post to get the ball into a corner.

And that is Forrest who had a big hand in the equalizer with three minutes of the first half to play. He wound Tore Reginiussen on the right side of the area before placing a center back to center a post, where an anonymous Sinclair legitimately gave the goal at halftime to Celtic.

There was less chance in the second half, although Rosenborg should have had a man expelled in the 58th minute. Djordje Denic, coming into play at the end of the first half, knocks in Tierney's feet, already warned of a foul on Forrest. However, he was released with a warning from the referee.

The last 15 minutes were filled with chances for Rosenborg. A good center of Bendtner was placed in front of Matt Vilhjalmsson before carrying the head of Reginiussen and Samuel Adegbenro.

But Celtic managed to keep its focus and win a big win, to see them at the dawn of the Europa League round of 16 and mark a historic turning point in the process.

It was another sparkling performance from the wing, Rosenborg's defenders often being unable to stop without committing a foul. He realized an absolutely sublime center for the first goal and put a change at the back which was sometimes very useful.

He now has eight goals and two badists in his last nine games for the club and the country. The 27-year-old has really demonstrated his talent.

It's a huge match for Celtic Sunday against Aberdeen in the final of the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park. Their last Europa League match will take place on Thursday, 13 December, at the FC Salzburg reception.
