A convicted drug trafficker was shot dead for what Gardai thought was a bank account litigation amounting to about € 25,000 at the time of his badbadination, Independent.ie revealed.
Detectives are investigating whether "significant" cash transportation has been carried out by Zach Parker's cocaine companies.
Parker (23) was shot dead as he was leaving a gym near his home in Swords, in northern Dublin County, on the night of January 17th.
Until now, no arrests have been made in connection with his murder. The most prominent theory in this case is that Parker owed 50,000 euros to a dangerous Traveler gang, closely aligned with the imprisoned gangster Cornelius Price.
It is believed that the gang would have used a young criminal based in Finglas to organize the hit on Parker.
However, the investigations did not uncover a chain of events that led to the murder – the first capital murder of the capital this year.
"The fact that Parker has so much money makes it strange that he was in conflict over an even bigger drug debt," a source said last night.
"This survey, conducted by Swords Gardai, proves difficult and complex."
Gardai continues to closely monitor many other Parker badociates, including a Coolock smuggler so upset by the death of his friend that he briefly "ended his activities" of drug trafficking and fundraising in the United States. Coolock and Raheny regions.
"Many people are very unhappy but none as much as this guy. He was very close to Zach, they worked a lot together, "said a source.
"It seems that Zach considered himself almost untouchable because of his relationship with him, because the Coolock trafficker has links with young members of the Kinahan cartel based in the Crumlin region in the south of the country."
However, none of Parker's relationship was tied to the gang that murdered Zach and injured his completely innocent friend, James Morrison (25) in the rifle attack last month in front of the gym.
Parker, who was also a top hairdresser and was hoping to open his own salon, died at least five shots on the BMW X5.
He was driving the car, with his friend Mr. Morrison in the pbadenger's seat.
Gardai said that although Mr. Morrison was injured, the CCTV footage indicated that the killer had only approached the side of the car.
Independent.ie had previously revealed that Parker's car had been the target of arson outside his home six months earlier.
He was also involved in a recent incident in which a house was stormed while a local conflict over the drug was threatening to escalate.
"The local band of travelers remains the prime suspect and their twisted logic seems to be that they put a marker on other young guys who owe them money – and there are many," said a source.
"The victim, Mr. Parker, was in many ways a Jekyll and Hyde character, he could be very kind and kind to people, but he could also be very aggressive and dominant towards others."
The infamous drug dealer known as Mr. Flashy went to Parker's funeral with two suspects.
The trio of North Dublin was part of the mourning crowd that manifested itself. Sources indicate that close ties were forged between the Swords, Ballymun, Finglas and Coolock-based gangs in the lucrative narcotics trafficking of the north.
At the same time, sources said the Gardai dismissed the connection between Parker's murder and the latest murder in the capital.
John Lawless (39), who was not involved in any crime, was shot dead near his home at Marigold Crescent, Darndale, just over two weeks ago while he was leaving to work as an agent fire safety in a private company.
Family and friends filled St. Francis Church of Assisi in Priorswood for his funeral.
