A customer spoke of his horror after finding a creepy crawly in his salad at a Lidl supermarket in Co Kildare.

According to Dublin Live, a giant spider was mixed with the usual lettuce, carrots and corn.

The shocking images show what we consider to be an eight-legged beast in a salad purchased from the Kildare City store.

Although it is very clearly dead, it is always terrifying to think that it could have been consumed.

The images of the spider were shared by the client's concerned mother on Lidl's Facebook page, with many commenting on their disgust at the situation.

She said, "Look what my daughter has found in her salad." My daughter had the salad for her lunch earlier and it was against the lettuce leaves She is after vomiting … she hopes not to having eaten it is what she has not seen. "

One person replied, "Oh Jesus, it's disgusting … I feel sick !!!!"
