A man in detention after a second knife attack in two days in Cork

Last night, a man was stabbed in Cork. This is the second incident in the city in two nights.

A man in his twenties is in custody after the latest incident in the north of the city.

Gardaí confirmed this morning that she was investigating an incident of badault on Glenryan Road, Gurranabraher, around 11 pm.

A man in his thirties received a number of apparent knife wounds and was taken to Cork University Hospital.

It is believed that his injuries are not life threatening.

The scene is currently preserved for technical review.

Gardaí arrested a 20-year-old man at the scene and took him to Gurranabraher Garda station where he is currently detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 .

A man was stabbed on Curraheen Road and another man was badaulted in a separate incident on Wednesday night.
