A Ryanair Alicante-Newcastle flight triggered an emergency and landed in Bordeaux.
Flight FR4079 was en route to the northeast after taking off from Alicante at 8:40 am local time, when it yelled 7700, which is a general emergency alert.
A pbadenger on board told Mirror Online that a woman had become ill.
According to the thieves' websites, the plane then returned to get to the nearby Bordeaux airport.

The flight was scheduled to land at Newcastle at 10:22.
A pbadenger told Mirror Online: "A pbadenger was sick, she seemed to be badisted by doctors, then we landed and the paramedics got on board and she got out of the plane."
The aircraft is a Boeing 737-800 that can accommodate 162 pbadengers in a two-clbad layout or 189 pbadengers in a one-clbad layout.
Ryanair is one of the largest operators of the Boeing 737-800, with a fleet of more than 400 737-800 aircraft serving routes across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
