A woman was seriously injured in a house fire in Cork.
The woman, aged between 50 and 50, was found unconscious in a Meadows home in Blarney, County Cork, this morning.
It was discovered today shortly after 6:30 am when neighbors and emergency services were informed of a fire in the property.
The woman received medical treatment at the scene before being transported to Cork University Hospital (CUH).
She remains in critical condition and is treated for the effects of severe smoke inhalation.
The fire brigades in Cork extinguished the fire shortly after arriving at the scene.
Considerable damage has been done to the property.
