The 25-year-old woman suffered serious injuries to the brain, back and pelvis, but said she needed to meet for the sake of her son.

Elliott said "there is not a day that pbades" without her thinking about the tragic Shiva Devine and Conall McAleer, both 20 years old, who were killed on the stroke of the mbadacre.

She said that she just wanted to "go back to old Rachel" but she still feels nothing from the stomach and has only one chance out of two to walk again.

Rachel wrote on social media: "It was 14 weeks earlier that the tragedy occurred and I lost my best friend Shiva and my good friend Squeak.

"There is not a day going on without my thinking about one or the other, or the collision, and it always seems like it happened yesterday.

"But I know they're up there looking at us all – it's true what they say – God really takes the best."

Elliott, of Irvinestown, in Fermanagh County, spoke about his difficulties with his new wheelchair and life after the accident.

"Watching my legs every day and just wanting to get them moving, and trying to move my brain, it just seems impossible when they do not move.

"I feel like giving up, but I still think I had a chance to walk 1%, so maybe a miracle will happen.

"But I just do not know where to find the strength to get used to my wheelchair.

"I just want to go back to old Rachel.

"But I have to try to get back and think positively for my little boy Ronnie and be categorical, I'll walk a little bit again.

"Sometimes I think it's selfish because there are two families mourning for their children but I'm grieving for my legs!

"I would like to be able to come back to it three months ago but I hope tomorrow will be a better day."

In September, Elliott was sentenced to a five-month suspended sentence for badaulting a woman in a pub.

She was sentenced to pay 275 euros to the victim after pleading guilty to causing bodily harm to a woman on 9 April.
