SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) – A woman said that an agent of Southwest Airlines in Southern California was laughing at the name "Abcde" of her 5-year-old daughter while she was preparing to take his flight back to Texas.
KABC-TV reported Wednesday night that Traci Redford had accused an officer of the John Wayne County Airport Door of Orange County to make fun of his daughter's name and to post a photo of his card. 39, boarding social media.
The name of the girl is spelled with the first five letters of the alphabet and is pronounced "AHB-sih-dee".
Redford said the family was about to embark because his daughter was epileptic.
She says she asked the agent to stop her and that someone saw the posting on social media and informed Southwest.
Southwest issued a statement to apologize to the family. The airline says it has followed with the employee.
