GATLINBURG, Tennessee (AP) – Tennessee authorities say the E. coli bacteria caused the disease that affected more than 500 people in a zipline attraction.
Gail Harmon is Deputy Director of the East Tennessee Health Department. Harmon tells the media that well-water samples from the CLIMB Works Zip Line Canopy Tour in Gatlinburg are routed to Nashville after initial tests found E. coli bacteria and total coliforms. The Tennessee Department of Health has learned that 548 of the 808 respondents reported being sick.
According to the health department, respondents visited CLIMB factories between mid-June and early July. in several states. CLIMB Works cooperated with the Department of Health and offers reimbursements to sick people
